cream of the crop
Thursday, July 7
It should come as no surprise that the scene outside the Chanel haute couture show in Paris looked a lot like a runway show, replete with signature chain-link bags, nubby tweed and embellished boucle. But the real eye-opener was all the abs on display. Crop tops were out and about--and actually all over Paris this past week. And not just on the young and six pack-fit, but on women, like me! The key to pulling off this look is an extra high-waist bottom and some coverage on the arms. I'd like to get in on the action with these slightly cropped t-shirts by The Frankie Shop (last two pics), along with these unabashedly elegant statements from Ninety Percent, Prada (under an oversized blazer or button-down shirt), The Reformation, Good American, Jonathan Simkhai, and Isabel Marant.
sequins and crochet, oh my!
Thursday, July 7
I promised myself I wouldn't buy another sheer summery dress, but then Zara just served up this one for $129, laden with sequins and crochet, and. . . I couldn't resist. I suspect I won't be alone in purchasing it though--and certain it won't be available for long.

Like everyone else, I crammed in a lot this past holiday weekend: a 5K race, two golf cart parades, two dance parties, a visit to the super cool just-opened The Hotel June in Malibu, multiple ocean dips, and loads of Doen-dress and bikini wearing. Proof here! The cut-out Ravenna won rave reviews as did the lace mini and the crochet suit! I have more in store--such as this and this--for the rest of the summer. Check out the summer collection here.
haute summer
Tuesday, July 5
Paris' couture runways are radiating with glitz and glamour (and boucle, tulle and feathers galore), but the city's boulevards are rigidly sticking to everyday casual. The current haute uniform: relaxed jeans (by Celine, bien Sur ) and a basic button-down blouse. Yes, please, count me in! My new favorite jeans are by Mother Denim, because they have an elevated and flattering trouser-like look but also crazy (airplane-caliber) comfy. I also have a pair of slightly flared Citizens of Humanity in rotation. However, I wouldn't mind upping my denim game a la Francaise in these noticeably Celine jeans. For shirts, my go-to are by The Frankie Shop, as they are perfectly oversized, nicely priced and come in myriad colors.

My identical twin sister and I came from one egg so it's no wonder we designed a bag that brandishes two different personalities! It’s reversible: classic casual stripes on one side and a dressed-up trompe l’oeil print on the other. Plus: a statement-making pearl and leather necklace that drapes over it--or can be worn separately. This do-it-all tote is our latest collab with designer Clare Vivier and we gathered together last night with friends in New York to celebrate--and sell it like hot cakes! Snag yours here before they vanish!
long weekend dressing
Thursday, June 30
A long-weekend of long, one-and-done dresses is in store for me, along with sandy toes, a July 4th 5K, a sound bath and barbecue! I am totally inspired by London-based stylist Monikh Dale's current summer line-up, pictured here--a stylish medley of embroidered Vita Kin, above, Sea New York, below, and Matteau. I'd weave in to the mix this day-to-night Rachel Comey, this smocked Doen, this cut-out Sir, this print Cara Cara and this simple, ultra-light Merlette. P.S. I'm also going to work the chic Etro-looking Zara situation (last pic)!

be cos

I like how all the cool girls in Europe are staying cool in Cos this summer, because, stateside, I can, too! (And, um, afford it!) Cos' signature sleek, super streamlined silhouettes not only scream The Row but the prices are very reasonable (unlike The Row). In my shopping cart: these tailored (dinner-worthy) shorts, these paper-bag trousers (below), this open-back midi dress (below), this perfectly-oversized linen button-down, and these pleated pants.
