the samba
Tuesday, February 22
Model Kaia Gerber, above, is always a step ahead of fast-paced sneaker trends. These days, she's running around in the Adidas Samba! And others, below, are now sprinting to keep up! These new must-have kicks are classic and comfortable (keep in mind they run small!) and go with just about everything. I almost might need them in both black and white!
knit fit
Monday, February 21
In case you want to know who is helping me finesse sweater-weather fatigue, it's Danish creative director Pernille Teisbaek. Her keep-it-fresh styling strategy: tonal layering. The look is timeless, clean and yet cozy. For maximum comfort, she sticks to Frame Denim jeans, such as the new white straight-leg pair, pictured above, and blue cargoes, below. Her knits--like her navy striped sweater and scarf-trimmed Ganni tunic (both below)--are loose-fitting but still flattering. Also in her mix: the shearling Prada loafers and the zip-up cashmere cable-knit, above.

ready for red
Friday, February 18
There was a time, back in the (pre-Covid) day, when I'd put on red lipstick regularly. But then lock-down locked that lipstick up! Until now. My polished pout is starting to venture out again, in its ready-to-go resplendent glory. But this time around, it's more moody maroon than flashy red--a reflection of the times, perhaps?! My inspiration: the shades seen in these recent snaps. Meet Mighty Maroon, my new go-to lip color!

on dutti
Thursday, February 17
Reportedly, Kate Middleton has been "re-wearing" a camel Massimo Dutti coat all winter long. This may surprise (or shock!) some, but I totally get it. Zara's lesser-known sister brand is looking extra chic this season--and, for me, it's making getting dressed royally easy. Check out the chain-trimmed (Celine-inspired) jeans, above, for example, and the boxy blazer, below, along with the oversized striped blouse, below, the tie-back sweater, and the print skirt, last pic.
anorak attack
Wednesday, February 16
I never knew I needed an anorak in my wardrobe until Monday when J.Crew enticed me with its just-out color-block topper. I envisioned wearing it over a turtleneck in Aspen next month and underneath a long coat or puffer jacket when I go back to New York. But then I saw this fun and colorful one from Boden and couldn't decide which one I liked better. Today, I came across the spotted iteration from Tory Burch, above, worn this past week by a Vogue editor, who styled it over a sweatshirt go to a fashion show. Now I'm completely stumped.
woo me
Wednesday, February 16
Like mother, like son. Gift-buying at the last minute. He texted me yesterday in a shopping panic, but at least I could help him out with a GENIUS idea! The House of Woo's Design in Box renders recycled and surplus fabrics into the custom-made design of your dreams. You design it, Woo makes it. How cool is that? Since my kids like to wear sweatpants pretty much 24/7, I thought it would be fun to let them make their very own standout sweats, above. But you can also custom-design t-shirts, hats, bag, whatever you fancy. Love!
cocoa pop
Wednesday, February 16
I just read in Vogue that brown is this year's hue du jour. This warm, neutral color is not only illuminating the streets of New York right now (pictured below), but taking over interiors, too, explaining that its calming, earthy vibe is grounding. It also reflects the rise of warm minimalism: clean yet comforting. I'm jumping in with The Outnet's $300 knee-high boots, last pic, and eyeing these pieces from Cult Gaia, Minkpink, Michael Kors, and Mara Hoffman!
