Fall's prevailing back-to-basics trend is anchored in outfit-polishing--and fresh-looking-- double breasted blazers. The rest is simple: straight-leg jeans and an unfussy top. My favorite options on the market are by Acne Studios, The Frankie Shop, Madewell (Celine-inspired!), Rebecca Valance, A.L.C and Zara (immediately below, and in black too!).

Not your mother's pearls, but the kind pictured here--funky, unexpected, bold--is the new big thing. Particularly love these by Shashi, Mizuki, Bauble Bar, Anne Sisteron, Mango, Catbird, Natasha Schweitzer, and Simone Rochas.

My favorite NYFW trend: the unbuttoned button-down. It's oversized. It's undone, both on top and bottom, and it's gorgeously paired with a bold gold chain like these by Laura Lombardi (great bang for the buck!), Rachel Comey (super popular) or Jenna Blake (forever-chic investment). I'd like to slip into these sexy shirts by Madewell, Toteme, Rails, Topshop, Vince, and R13.

Just in case there was any confusion about Fashion Week's "IT" shoe, here's a bit of back-up for the must-have Bottega Veneta thong sandal. Of course, it's already sold out everywhere but here. These snaps also prove that strappy sandal season is far from over. Yes!

Puff sleeves are proving their power, parading down both the streets and the Spring 2020 runways of New York. Considering this trend's stamina, I'm all in, particularly with these puff pieces from Cecilie Bahnsen (below), Ulla Johnson (last pic), Zara, H&M, Rachel Comey, Mara Hoffman and J.Crew!

Three days into New York Fashion Week, and the attendees' collective decision to don faded, distressed jeans indicates it's the denim du jour. The fit is suitably relaxed; A hole or two at the knee is optional. Might as well start owning on our own, right? The start of New York Fashion Week ushered in the first fall chill and its go-to hues: a cozy autumnal mix of mustard, marigold, and ochre. I went out of my way yesterday to pop into H&M and snag the fringed Studio Collection sweater, above. Already sold out online, the sweater apparently never even made it to the LA store. Dang. Still, I did not leave empty-handed (no surprise there). And I think I may even have made it out better, with this $7 Hawaiian-print t-shirt, this floral (men's!) t-shirt and this one--for $7 each! (I will wear them with print skirts and pants and basic khakis--see below.) Also in the bag: this structured corduroy jacket (both colors sooo good), these cropped wide-leg khakis, and this white blouse (which I'll be wearing backwards, of course). Happy Friday!
