turtleneck triumph
Saturday, October 15
Oozing with coziness and covered-up warmth, this And Other Stories turtleneck also features an unexpected peekaboo slit, offering myriad cardigan-like layering possibilities. I'd like to throw it over a lace-trimmed lingerie-like camisole like this or this, or a print blouse such as this or this, and, on bitterly cold days, a vibrant knit like this, this or this!
le catch x haney
Thursday, October 13
My friend Mary Alice Haney and I have long shared an equal love for fashion. She parlayed her passion into jobs at various Conde Nast magazines, working with stylists like Polly Allen Mellon, and most recently into a super successful clothing line called Haney, stocked in stores such as Neiman Marcus and Brown's in London and worn by the likes of Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon. It was only a matter of time that the two of us would team up and collaborate on something we both would want in our closets. Introducing Le Catch xo Haney, a limited edition collection of dresses that reflect both our aesthetics: unabashed femininity (Mary Alice!) and effortless chic, along with a price that's right (Marlien). What I love about these dresses, available in denim, black and white silk, is its day-to-night, sandal-to-stiletto versatility. It can also be worn as a tunic with pants. Truly, the possibilities are endless! You can check out the collection here.
winter (and warm) ready
Wednesday, October 12
Truth be told: I'm still in denial that winter is coming. Hence the greatness that is Shopbop's just-launched three-day sale (25% off your entire order, and 30% off if you spend over $500!), stocked with both amazing cold weather-friendly pieces-and LA-temperate-year-round styles! Helping me come to grips with the imminent frost: this cozy chic Acne Studios jacket (pictured above), this faux fur Otto d'ame, this English Factory tie-sleeve sweater, this Glamorous statement knit, this Clu sweater, these wide-leg Eve Denim jeans, these Loeffler Randall boots, and this striped Faithfull shirt. And for those random (but more recurrent!) heat wave days: this cute Carolina K dress, below, this one-shouldered Georgia blouse, and this Piper ruffle mini dress! Check everything out--cool and hot--here.

back on track
Monday, October 10
Sweater weather is looking a lot more alluring this year, thanks to some open back detailing. I love this fresh, unexpected flourish--and its inherent sexiness, too. Some especially desirable sweaters that are all business up front and party in the back come from New Revival (pictured above), Pixie Market (so cute--my sis just bought!), Helmut Lang, L'oeil, Vince, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Olivia Palermo x Chelsea 28, and Elizabeth and James.

hoodies and fur
Friday, October 7
LA may be on the brink of broiling through another heat wave, but that's not stopping me from plotting how to stay warm and chic this winter. One unexpected, fun way: dressing up the humble hoodie--this fall's go-to layering staple--with a little luxe (faux) fur. The high/low effect is right up my alley! I could go for it with these hoodies from H&M, Topshop, Vince or Scotch and Soda, along with furry vests from Zadig & Voltaire, Diane Von Furstenberg, Mango (above), Michael by Michael Kors, and Chloe. P.S. I could also skip the hoodie and go straight up stylish with this Pixie Market piece!
sweater styling
Thursday, October 6
Tying a sweater around your waist is all of sudden a new-new thing. As these snaps show, this simple styling trick instantly adds a layer of note, especially when the sweater is statement making. I am inclined to play with prints, textures and bold hues, with knits like these from J.Crew, Marc Jacobs, Tory Sport, Rebecca Taylor, Topshop, H&M, and Halogen.
