good to go
Monday, September 28
Speaking of bags, I'm going to be packing my Stephanie Johnson travel cases, above, a lot this coming month (Paris! New York! Nashville!) and stocking up on more as the designer is staging an unprecedented half-off everything sale. (Use the promo code sixteen.) These bags make great gifts--I like to give them out as hostess presents, stocking stuffers and to my kids' teachers at Christmastime. They also double as clutches, and are, of course, essential for traveling. My current favorites include: the Flat Pouch in Bollywood Black, Traveler in Hamptons White, the Jewelry Roll, and the Dopp Kit. The sale ends October 2.

round up

Now this is something you don't see everyday: top handle clutches imbued with well-rounded elegance. So original-looking, too! The only question is, which color?
sweet something
Friday, September 25
I've been circling the pretty Topshop lace skirt, above, for a few weeks now, but thanks to this snap, which features it in super chic fashion-show-going action, I'm convinced it's a keeper! Also love how it can be dressed up or down. You can find more sizes here.

fringe frenzy
Thursday, September 24
From the looks of things, the fringe frenzy is thriving in London, above and below. And it's not going to simmer down anytime soon. Designers such as Alexander Wang, Proenza Scouler, Marc Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta featured it in their Spring 2016 collections. Quick and easy ways to get in on this trend now--without looking like a fashion victim!--come from Mango, J.O.A., Theory, Tamara Mellon, Elizabeth and James, Miss Selfridge, Proenza Schouler, and Ralph Lauren.

golden goods
Wednesday, September 23
I had dinner the other night with a friend--whom I consider my oracle of must-read books--and while she was telling me about some of her favorites (Luckiest Girl Alive, Permission to Parent, Ashley's War), I got distracted by her gorgeously decadent-looking earrings. Now I'm thrilled that I can dazzle in my own pair, too!
fall splurges
Tuesday, September 22
With fall's must-have Celine and Chanel shoes, above, out and about (i.e. everywhere!), I'm getting the itch to splurge on a few of my own seasonal updates. I'm referring specifically to investment pieces that will define/pull together/freshen up my cold weather outfits, the ones I will wear consistently and for years to come. On my wishlist: this everyday-worthy Chloe bag (because it's not the one everyone has!), this sporty-elegant Altuzarra jacket, this Isabel Marant striped sweater, these Gianvito Rossi black pumps, this party-ready off-the-shoulder wool Jacquemus dress (that's sold out everywhere else), these Alexander Wang boots, this coated lace ALC skirt, this stunning and wallet-friendly ear cuff, and this dramatic Alexander McQueen coat. Rest assured, I will be adding to this list!
cape cool
Tuesday, September 22
Cape-like and edgy-cool, this is exactly the kind of sweater a Parisian girl--and moi aussi!--would wear to run around on a brisk fall day.
capital tee
Monday, September 21
Now that the fashion tribe has moved to London for the shows, it will be interesting to see if New York's biggest runway trends--i.e., the florals, high ruffled necklines, fringe, crochet, slip dresses and bare shoulders--will make their way across the pond. One street style look that has sailed over successfully is the white t-shirt. It's suddenly all the rage again, but doing its usual work, teaming up reliably with everything from easy jeans to statement skirts to proper trousers. My favorite current versions are by Acne Studios (last pic), Citizens of Humanity, Stateside, Rag & Bone, Adam Lippes and Topshop.
