denim delight
Wednesday, July 16
This recent pic of Olivia Palermo reminds me that a good old denim blouse has many virtues, one, of which, is that you can pair it with a summery A-line skirt and sandals and look impeccably polished. I adore these true blues from Paige, Band of Outsiders, AG, and Current/Elliott.

bracelet blend
Tuesday, July 15
I love the idea of punching up a simple top with a variety of jewelry, and the mix here is spot-on perfect. I'd recreate this look with these silver bangles, this blingy crystal bracelet, this colorful woven band, and this pearl and leather cuff. Then I'd throw on this beaded chain long necklace to finish things off.

couture colors
Monday, July 14
Vibrant colors popped on and off the Fall 2014 Haute Couture runways in Paris last week, providing a vivid omen of what's to come in our own wardrobes. The trend started with Christian Dior's pointy ankle-booties, brandishing dip-dyed and bright neon hues, above. Out on the boulevards, show goers like model Hanelli Mustaparta, below right, and Russian designer Vika Gazinkskaya, left, pulled off their favorite primaries and more. Since I'm a big fan of color, this is a trend I'll easily embrace, either head to toe or in little splashes here and there. For starters, I'd go bold with these Valentino pumps (pictured below), this Asos coat, this Tibi maxi, these Paul Andrew slingabacks, this Elie Saab lace dress (I wish!), these Guissepe Zanotti ankle boots, this Prada tote, and this Clare V. clutch.

workout wardrobe
Saturday, July 12
While shopping is one of my favorite sports, I love exercising every morning like nothing else. I run mostly, sweat through heart-thumping yoga, hike and strength-train at the gym. While I have a good, strong routine, I strangely have a very meager workout wardrobe. I have no good explanation for this, except for the simple fact that snapping up a new party dress brings me way more joy than purchasing a new sports bra. The reality is I actually need more workout gear. Desperately! Thankfully, Net-a-porter just launched Net-a-sporter, which means I can shop for some extra stylish sports bras (along side amazing stilettos) and look way more pulled-together (and maybe even leaner and stronger?) at the gym. My sweat-it-out favorites include this sexy-strappy Live the Process sports bra (which could double for an everyday bra), these stream-lining Spanx leggings (genius!), this post-workout Zoe Karssen sweatshirt, and this striped LAAIN racer-back tank.

sarong study
Thursday, July 10
I have an inordinate amount of Balinese sarongs, thanks to my mother who lived (and met my father) there and my own visits. Since I am half Indonesian and possess all these beautiful textiles, you'd think I'd be an expert in wrapping them elegantly, stylishly around my body. Actually, though I've earnestly tried to pull them off, I don't think I've really ever done so with masterful aplomb. Enter these silk sarongs, which I discovered at Topshop (of all places!). Not only do they show me how to wear a sarong gorgeously, but they also tempt me to add more to my collection!
