a little flair
Monday, April 8
I just got back from an adventurous week-long vacation in Aspen, and while I enjoyed the snowy summits, brisk runs along the Rio Grande Trail, breathless hikes up Buttermilk, along with margaritas at the newly renovated Hotel Jerome (so chic!) and countless sushi rolls at Matsuhisa, I am happy to be out of my rugged snow boots and back in the city. Now, all I want to do is throw on a dress. This tweed Rebecca Taylor number is deeply feminine, downright flattering and crazily wearable--all without a lot of fuss. (The denim-like blue hue also makes it easy to dress down, especially with a pair of flat strappy sandals.)

the denim mini
Saturday, April 6
It's been a while since I've worn a denim mini skirt, much less thought about one (it was a post-college staple), however, this picture makes me want to throw one on--but only with fancier, more grown-up extras, like a chic blue blazer, amazing statement sandals and a strong bag. I'm liking these denim skirts from Big Star, Joe's Jeans, and Isabel Marant.

simply sparkly
Friday, April 5
It's little tops like these that wield so much power. This beaded one goes from a day of loafing around to a festive barbecue (with crisp white jeans and a kitten heel)--and sparkles throughout. Plus, it looks like you snapped it up at some far-flung bazaar.

slip in
Thursday, April 4
Sandal season is around the corner. I can vouch for this having just spent the last few (warmish) days in Aspen, where even though it snowed a few nights ago, ski parkas quickly are being replaced by lightweight fleeces and less. I tend to have a few favorite flat sandals every season that I wear to to death (and try to resurrect with numerous trips to the shoe repair man), including a neutral everyday pair, a fancier, party-worthy one, a gladiator style, an embellished city-to-beach sandal (such as the one above), and a metallic pair. It sounds excessive, but I do wear them all! As it turns out, I've found some good ones on sale (strange but true, given the time of year!), along with some others that are so insanely chic I'd happily bust them out apres on Ajax (seriously). They include: a classic and infinitely wearable Michael Kors (on sale!), a rose gold (Chloe-ish) Rebecca Minkoff, a subtly studded J.Crew, a minimalist snakeskin ankle-wrap K. Jacques, a gladiator-inspired Gentle Souls (I have them in black and they're like a flat version of the sexy lace-up stiletto) some stop-and-stare Valentinos, and an elegant party-worthy Prada.

striped staple
Thursday, April 4
When I would interview cover subjects for Lucky Magazine, one of the questions that I would always ask is: What is the one thing you are perpetually shopping for? For me, it would be the striped top. I am continually on the quest to find one that's better than the versions I already own. This black-and-white striped linen (read: comfy!) guy may mean I can call off my search, for now.

scallop shorts
Wednesday, April 3
The feminine scalloped edging does so much for an everyday pair of shorts. It's exactly what I want to wear all summer long. I'm loving these lovelies from Asos, Club Monaco (also in chambray), and MiH.

the go-to jacket
Wednesday, April 3
Anyone who sees me do the school run every morning can attest to my affinity for the army jacket. I have three of them, each one cut a little differently, all of them indispensable. It's my throw-it-on-over-everything go-to, because it adds style to even the most unstylish outfits (like my workout uniform!). I also like the contrast of an army jacket over something fancy, like a cocktail dress. Here, the zippered pockets, waist-cinching drawstring and cool motorcycle jacket cut yields enduring wear-everywhere greatness.

chained up
Tuesday, April 2
I've been stalking Topshop's website for this giant chain link choker for months to no avail. I first saw it in Topshop's spring campaign and then on Spanish chicster Sara Escudero. It's kind of OTT but totally amazing--and it's only $40. I finally found it in silver here.
