good jeans
Monday, June 18
The other night I had drinks with a publicist friend of mine. She works for a high-end, LA-based denim brand, so it would be accurate to say that she lives in jeans, and judging from her appearance, she knows better than many of us how to optimize them (i.e., style them to look dressier, more work-appropriate, etc.) The night we met she looked especially fetching, pretty much just like this...

roaring into style (again)
Friday, June 15
Stella McCartney unveiled her Resort 2013 collection at an East Village cemetery on Monday. Despite the solemn location, the clothes were awash in playfully bold patterns, including the perennial favorite, the leopard print. It brandished McCartney's coats, jackets, and pants (see pic of models above), and was further spotted at the resort collections of Derek Lam, Celine (see below), and Just Cavalli. If you want to get your paws on this wild print now, consider this leopard print blazer by Phillip Lim (on sale for half off!), or these cropped leopard print trousers from Zara.

the wedge
Friday, June 15
I have an old pair of APC wedges that look similar (except they're brown) that I've worn into the ground. This update boasts a Celine-graphic white wedge (love!) and small studs on the back (nice). I could wear them with anything from wide legged jeans to shorts to the work-ready outfit below...

earning my stripes
Thursday, June 14
A hooded parka makes this striped dress foul weather-proof, and it's more relaxed than a belted trench coat. The outfit is rainy day perfection--and I want to work it, too. I'm thinking I'll make a dress like this one, since I don't know where the one pictured is from (anybody?), with help from designer and my friend Minnie Mortimer, who masters the striped dress. I'll just add some leather squares for pockets and voila. I found a similar hooded parka here, for $100, no less.

one-step dressing

Valentino and Stella McCartney have been recent champions of the jumpsuit. This floral version has the summery languidness and throw-it-on-and-go-ease of a maxi dress--and it's easy on the wallet, too. Wear it with...

Forever 21's metallic cap toe sneakers for $12.50 a pop? Um, yes, please. Choosing a single color might be more arduous than just buying them all!
the summer dress
Wednesday, June 13
Net-a-Porter Magazine recently asked me what my ideal summer day dress is, and here's my answer. It's light, breezy, and simple--and can take me from the beach to a barbecue. I'd work it on a scorcher with...

is it vintage?
Tuesday, June 12
No, it's Zara. As my three-year-old would say: Cool, right? I just love the combination of the chain link strap and the old world-looking etched silver case. Very unusual and unexpected, all of which adds up to keeper.
studded cardigan
Tuesday, June 12
Call me crazy, but summer often still qualifies as sweater weather in my book. An air conditioned office can be uncomfortably Arctic, and in LA, no matter the season, the nights are often cool. That's why I'm thinking this neutral-matches-everything-studded cardigan is a very good call. Wear it with...

2. Warehouse studded cardigan, $85, warehouse.co.uk
3. Accessorize satchel, $60, accessorize.com
4. Zara booties, $89, zara.com

lonny love
Monday, June 11
There's nothing like getting into bed at night and poring over a new issue of Lonny Magazine. The online home decor magazine is total eye candy--so well designed and always inspiring. The latest issue (June/July 2012) just came out, and I am thrilled to be featured in its Blogger Style section. (Some of you may recall that Lonny did a feature on my home last year, and if you are curious, you can see the pictures here on LE CATCH's Facebook page.) P.S. Recognize some of my favorite picks?
