Sun's out, swimsuits are on, and so are our cord pendant necklaces! Yes, it's that time of year to tie one on and layer it with sparkly, stay-on bling. Vogue concurs, BTW, endorsing ones in natural textures like rope, silk, or leather. In New York last week I celebrated the premiere of my father’s documentary at The Tribeca Film Festival with my family. I indulged in late-night pizza at Rubirosa and stayed out way past my bedtime at Zero Bond. Another highlight: I wore new summer dresses and skirts! After weeks and weeks of LA’s May Grey/June Gloom (read: sweater weather), I relished the sun on my skin–and breezing around in cool but also thoroughly unintimidating clothing. Of course, we can't live the resort-hopping life all the time, but at least we can look like we're ready to, right? I found some fodder for this future dream of mine with help from Johnny Was. It's been a minute since I was last pregnant, but I don't ever recall looking this chic when I was 8 months along! Aimee Song's summer maternity style is appropriately easy and relaxed but it's still steeped in the type of glamour that intrigues her 7 million-plus Instagram following. To dress up a comfy, loose-fitting pair of drawstring pants, she adds feminine ruffles, naturally, in the form of a strapless Kijun top ($140). For a day at the beach, she teams an ALIGNE maxi skirt with a reverse halterneck Toteme top. Long, one-and-done dresses are also prioritized, specifically ones that can be also worn postpartum, such as the white long-sleeved Nanushka and the pointelle knit ba&sh.
