My son's idea of "getting dressed" for school is throwing on a pair of baggy sweatpants. While it’s not my favorite look, I can’t help but admire his commitment to comfort—especially since I want to indulge my own today with the above head-to-toe Zara. The slit pant leg elevates them significantly; Styling them with a monochromatic sweatshirt and polished pointy-toe flats (rather than sneakers!) works wonders, too. You know that I rarely write about sweatpants, so these must be extra special to make an appearance here--and the ones highlighted in my latest Substack, below, are fresh off the press!

I love a fashion trend that simplifies getting dressed. This fall, all I need to look up to date is jacket that doubles as a shirt--essentially, stand-alone outerwear with (almost) nothing underneath. I can facilitate this fresh look further with these slam-dunk options from Isabel Marant Etoile, Ganni, ASTR The Label, Sezane, and Free People. Keep in mind, details makes all the difference, such as the red corduroy collar on the Gucci jacket, below! P.S. I'd be tempted to not wear anything under the striking burgundy faux leather Topshop trench either!

I'd like to credit my three-day veggies-only cleanse for looking extra skinnier in my jeans, but I honestly think it's all about the pleats here! They really do work magic! Mine are by Ozma but I also love these by Nili Lotan, Veronica Beard and The Gap, all of which I own!! In case you're wondering, my blazer is from Maison Mayle and pointy-toe flats are by Toteme. Not sure how London-based stylist Lucy Alston came onto my radar, but I am so glad she did. Her effortlessly chic fall fashion is worth tracking--and shopping!
