Professional photographers like my NYC-based dear friend , above, have the magic touch when it comes to art directing/capturing a special summer moment, but the insane dress deserves a wee bit of credit, too, no?! I tried my hand at dramatic-dress magic in Malibu yesterday with help from my husband and a new dress, below. I'll admit it isn't quite as breathtaking as above, but at least I can aspire to future picture-perfection with these by , , , , and .

Look who's the hero now! Yes, that's right, my Jack dress, according to the editors of Harper's Bazaar! This cutie is now up for grabs on (and in navy, too) till supplies last. My running around in New York City for the last few days has entailed laps around the Whitney Museum, a jaunt across the Brooklyn Bridge, a head-to-toe exploration of Dumbo Soho House, rounds of miniature golf with my son, and miles clocked up and down the Hudson River Park bikepath--and it has all required a marathon of dress-wearing. Fortunately, I packed well: a carry-on full of frocks that make the Big Apple-style cut and keep me cool, including the (on sale!), above and the striped , below. Did I mention that I've also been shop-hopping? Of course, this should come as no surprise, and nor should the fact that I snapped up a few more dresses, including this lace , this floral (I also like this cut-out for hot, steamy days!), this ruffled and this mini wrap.

I've officially begun my summer dress-only streak (read: no jeans allowed). And I just found this corset-inspired cutie by (on sale, no less) to put into my rotation. I love it so much, I might have to get it in blue, too. But then again I could add other on-sale options into the mix, such as these by , , , and .

The most fetching summer statement bag I've seen yet!

My horoscope is predicting not only exotic but spontaneous travel this month. Even though I have no flights booked, it wouldn't hurt to be jet-set prepared, right? Just in case? For sure, so I poked around and secured some vacay-ready possibilities, including the drama situation, above, this crochet , this flirty , this slinky , and this ruffled . Now all I need is a plane ticket!!

I bought the above green pleated Asos cutie before it sold out a few months ago and have had it in constant rotation ever since. (I recently wore it in , unbuttoned over a bikini.) Fortunately, just re-issued the dress in white, which, of course, I snapped up pronto! It's bound to go fast...
