The fashion biz is working hard to make itself more sustainable, and I am always excited when I hear about new initiatives, big or small. Today's news is particularly cool as it comes from my friend Mary Alice Haney, who just launched her label. The concept is to take all the leftover luxe fabric from her line's prior bestselling designs and re-cut it into new, right-this-minute silhouettes, all done in LA, so there is no overseas shipping/carbon footprint required. She's making limited batches for now, and I'm getting one before they're gone!
