high street highlights
Thursday, November 3
A quick dispatch from The High Street this morning: H&M is serving up some extra cute coats right now, including the above fluffy tie number that looks way more luxe than its $120 price tag, along with the quilted scarf coat, below. Meanwhile, Mango is crushing "the leather effect" situation, with the about-to-sell-out A-line midi skirt and under-$200 faux fur jacket, both below. Lastly, Asos has some epic party dresses I'd like to party in: this sequin statement (with an elegant tuxedo blazer over it) and this frothy lace frock.
perfect pants
Wednesday, November 2
My New York-based friend dragged me around Los Angeles the other day to help her find the perfect pair of trousers. The holy-grail criteria: perfectly loose-fitting, polished yet also casual, flattering, not too expensive and day-to-night worthy! Not surprisingly, we failed to find a pair that checked all the boxes that day, but, independently, I stayed on task and, thanks to ever-in-the-know Parisienne Leia Sfez, above, I just discovered Loulou Studio's trousers that not only fit the bill, but come in a variety of colors and ring in at less than $400. I snapped up this pair in black that I might just wear every day this winter!

Tuesday, November 1
Even a bit of faux shearling is going to go a long way this winter--as in this and this! But I'm embracing a more-is-more approach with the reversible Alex Mill, above, and the maxi Something Navy, below. I also love this extraordinary Isabel Marant!

weekend plans
Friday, October 28
TGIF! What's on my agenda this weekend? Catching up on my brilliant writer friend Alessandra Codinha's must-read newsletter called Here We Go, rife with book recs, travel discoveries and other juicy "sharable delights," listening to Elise Loehnen's latest podcast on "The Power of Visual Thinkers," hanging new art with help from Simply Framed (a seamless online service that's perfectly framed my most beloved art, including my Lichtenstein print above), start binge watching Spiral, which all my friends are hooked on, seriously contemplate adding more sexy sparkles (below) to my holiday wardrobe, and praying it gets cold enough to bust out this new Toteme jacket. I'll also be on a mission to find a great lifeguard costume for my son to wear on Halloween! Enjoy!

The new offerings at And Other Studios deserve a shout-out, IMHO. I particularly love the on-point drawstring trousers, above (also perfect with a t-shirt and sneakers) and the under-$300 faux fur coat, and belted jacket, both below. Ogle some more here!
the great x eddie bauer
Wednesday, October 26
Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, the LA-based styling duo who founded Current/Elliott denim and are now the designers of The Great, have teamed up again with Eddie Bauer for another extra cute capsule collection, chock full of fun fleeces, puffers, boots and more. I snapped up a color-blocked fleece from the first collab last year and every time I wear it, I get a zillion compliments. So, I'll be doing round two in the checked zip-up, above middle, the striped boots and reversible bomber jacket. Check out the entire collection--poised to quickly sell out!--here and here!

out and about
Tuesday, October 25
I posted this pic on my Instagram Stories last week and I am still getting DM's, inquiring about the provenance of my dress. So, I thought I'd officially broadcast the answer: it's by Dorothee Schumacher and available here. I plan to wear it with boots and a big chunky cardigan when the weather cools down. My friend, Ali Larter, who just debuted her new wine label Forever Gold (we were out celebrating the launch!), is wearing a pretty wrap Zimmermann.
