Every year I am the knucklehead who always waits until the very last minute to do my holiday shopping. I cannot tell you why this is the case, except that online shopping has enabled me to do this and, I might add, made it easy. That's exactly what happened to me while I was poking around Walmart's website the other day, when I stumbled across the quilted cutie (above for $30!) and so many more stylish surprises (thank you, Walmart!), like the striped button-down (below), this color-blocked cardigan, these patch-pocket drawstring sweatpants (in every color!), this blouson-sleeve blouse, and this adorable pea coat. While I am not quite ready to hang up the garland and steep myself in egg nog, I could easily slip into a sparkly, holiday-ready top or a dressed-up knit. Not surprisingly, J.Crew is serving up a slew of styles that are suitable for the occasion, including the festive feather-trimmed striped tee, above, that works both at home and out on the party circuit. Before yesterday's chopping-baking-roasting marathon, I cooked up a convo with a Honolulu-based friend on the phone. In between her expert stuffing tips and humorous familial anecdotes, she happily announced that she had just bought a hot tub at a Black Friday Sale. While I am not in the market for a hot tub, I did get inspired to find some of my own hot finds, including a cool fringed jacket totally inspired by the one Parisien Leia Sfez is wearing, above, along with these gems from Ganni, Beaufille, Monica Vinader, and Jimmy Choo. And, oh, I'm eyeing this ping pong table, too! Not quite a hot tub but arguably as fun.
