Mornings have been "cold" in LA these past few weeks, and I am finding that the warm Land's End fleeces I'm putting on in the morning to take my children to school are staying on till the end of the day. They're just too comfy and cozy to peel off, and thankfully, they're ridiculously easy to mix into to my polished workaday mix. Proof: above and below. Of course, the right fleece is key. The green jacket I'm wearing above is actually reversible, with just straight-up quilting on the other side. The navy zip-up bomber jacket is lightweight and made for layering (read: cute under a coat). All are scores! I also have this jacket in green because I love it so much, along with this parka.

Goop's dinner invitation instantly had me with its promise of a twice-baked potato with mounds of caviar. Of course, not all holiday parties are created equal. Some will demand decadent sequins, while others perhaps just a trophy top with jeans. Friends and family flew in from all over this week, and it's been non-stop cruise-directing for me: dinner partying, brunching at San Vicente Bungalows, shopping in Beverly Hills, late-afternoon lunching in Malibu! Of course, I've been dressing up for all of it, starting with the party-perfect diaphanous organza Doen, above, and this seductive lace L'Agence (I love a huge turtleneck over it and high-knee boots!)
