fall fleurs
Monday, November 9
The leaves may be turning golden in England but British stylist Emma Rose Thatcher's Instagram feed is still filled with budding florals--and I'm inclined to follow suit. After all, I have (too) many dresses that didn't get their fair share of air time this past summer. So, to bring them up to speed, I'll need this season's Chelsea Boot, specifically Sam Edelman's well-priced, perfectly-hefty pair. Hers are by Gianvito Rossi (more sizes here). Plus, a tailored oversized blazer, like hers by Blaze Milano or Frame. P.S. Darker florals are more suitable for this season, such as the Free People, last pic, this En Saison and this Rotate.

Decked out in my Kule stripes, Vita Grace cardigan and latest lucky charms--from Goop, Thatch Jewelry and Jenna Blake--I'm inspired to bring the bling to my feet, inspired by NYC-based stylist Juliana Salazar in Tory Burch's gem-embellished flats, below. And, while I am it, pick up my style stride in cashmere sweats (Madeline Thompson, pictured below), topped by a perfectly oversized blue blazer and New Balance sneaks, or a beaded shoulder bag, plus these gold dome rings ($45!) and cropped and cozy Doen fisherman cardigan. Enjoy the weekend!

Sounds like we're going to need to strap in for a long dark winter. Yipes! Offering some comfort: a cozy, zip-sweater like the one, above, as a heavy duty layering piece and/or all-in-one scarf. I found lookalikes here, here, and here. Also cute and cozy: Mango's (Loewe-inspired) scarf coat, River Island's (Gucci-esque) hooded sweatshirt,Cos' cashmere bra (it comes with matching pants or boy shorts!), and Loulou Studio's re-mastered fisherman sweater, last pic. Stay well!

London-based photographer Jessie Bush, above, called 2020 the year we drink wine in our sweats. On this jittery day, I could not agree more! So, anyone up for a distraction? How about we entertain some stylish sweats at least, like this, this, this and this. If not, then may I suggest a look at the just-in sale stash of Ulla Johnson at The Outnet (including the statement crochet cardigan, below)? Also love this and this! Or a browse around West Elm's Warehouse Sale (here, here and here). If you feel truly motivated, jump-start your holiday shopping at these well-edited sources, here and here. celine scene
Monday, November 2
Even though I just dialed my clock back for Daylight Savings, I'm kicking off this week by leaping forward to next Spring--specifically to Celine's rendition of it. It looks both familiar ('80s-inspired striped blouses) and completely unrecognizable (sports bras!?). Overall, however, the collection is youthful and very wearable. Plus, there are pieces I can wear presently (and feel ahead of the game), like the ballet slippers, above, poised to be the shoe of the season (this iteration by Margaux fits the bill perfectly), Chelsea boots (here, here and here), faded loose-fitting jeans (yes, yes, and yes!), collarless jackets (here and here), striped button-downs (here and here) and made for layering cropped hoodie. Oh, and a sleek baseball cap to cap things off! Onward!
hallowed things
Friday, October 30
Well, that was fast, October! At least it blew in some cool new things my way, including the best birthday gift from my best friends (Jenna Blake's gold heart necklace, below), Netflix's The Queen's Gambit (obsessed), and the latest Fashion Institute Galley Auction (ends 11/1), featuring artists' perspectives on the Spring 2021 designer collections (my faves below). Plus, Haute Haney's super luxe made-to-order loungewear-meets-partywear set, above, just launched. Also new to my repertoire: these super flattering Citizens of Humanity jeans (that my sister has tried to steal from me--TWICE!), GOOPGENES' Nourishing Repair Body Butter (working overtime right now during these Santa Anas), Molly Sims' 30-day Bootcamp (so, so good!), and these ribbed wide-leg pants from The Frankie Shop. Happy Halloween, all!
fall getaway
Thursday, October 29
Getting out of town is all I want to do these days, and Moda Operandi's Lisa Aiken demonstrates how I can wing it, super stylishly. Her recent getaway to Nantucket packed in easy straight-leg jeans, wear-with-everything Nike Air Max sneakers (also here), Toteme tank tops, relaxed Vince pants, Uniqlo cashmere sweaters ($50 a pop!), an oversized white Jacquemus blazer, a Le17 September maxi coat, and Khaite knits. P.S. Moda Operandi is staging a 25% off Fall Sale!

a fresh coat
Wednesday, October 28
It makes sense that fleece looks fresher this fall. Designers correctly assumed we'd be living in the softest stuff possible, and so they spun out tons of stylish options to suit everyone. The ones that really nail comfy and chic include The Reformation's coat, above, Madewell's popover jacket, this belted Vanessa Bruno (last pic), this denim-trimmed Sandy Liang (on sale!), and this luxe-looking oversized See By Chloe.
