world tour
Monday, July 20
This past weekend, I got to see things far and wide from the Comet Neospace, with binoculars on my rooftop, to fellow fashionistas I follow on Instagram, who, in spite of our upside-down world, continue to light up the style universe. This silver lining flickers in Free People's sweater set, above, Lou Lou Studio's cashmere sweater, immediately below, Lee Matthew's decadent maxi (second pic down, on sale) and Arket's flowy satin skirt (last pic). A whimsical camp shirt over a sexy swimsuit also goes a long way as does an excellent pair of denim bermuda shorts. But, if you really want to go for it, there's the end-all-be-all lace embellished Gucci, last pic!

in the trenches
Friday, July 17
One thing I can certainly count on this fall is a lightweight, oversized trench in my wardrobe. Its job: To finish an outfit, fend off the chill, and make "getting dressed" even easier. (P.S. This trend has strong legs, headlining the Resort 2021 collections of Gucci, Victoria Beckham and Louis Vuitton.) The selfie master and Irish mother of two @smythisters, pictured here, shows how it's done right this minute with inexpensive coats, culled from High Street stores: this Weekday (immediately below), this Asos, this Arket (above), this Monki, this H&M, and this on-sale Herno.

Back in May, Brookly-based Olivia Palermo told Vogue India of her quarantine style: 'I've been using fashion to help maintain a sense of normalcy." Her mantra: make it safe, but make it fashion. Not only does she opt for silk statement-making scarves but she's converted them into face coverings with ear straps, so they stay up above her nose. (We all know: cloth masks may not protect the wearer, but may keep the wearer from spreading the virus to others.) I like this idea for when I'm socially distanced in public settings. I'd use this striped We Wore What bandana or this polka dot print Clare V and wouldn't mind investing in this vintage Chanel.
the flowy skirt
Wednesday, July 15
This easy, breezy flowy skirt is adding fresh air to my summer uniform. It's working overtime with a tank top (this and this), a crop top, and, of course, a swimsuit. And come autumn, I'll wear it with a slouchy sweater and boots. There are lots of amazing options out there right now, but the cutest, freshest style is full and floaty and hits below the knees. My top picks include the above H&M button-down skirt (25% off today!), this black Mara Hoffman, this Andamane zebra-print, and this tiered satin Topshop.

Those of you wanting to cultivate your outdoor style should make a beeline to The Outnet, freshly stocked with deeply discounted beach to backyard (and beyond) beauties. Among my favorites: the gorgeous Yvonne S floral frock, above, (with sandals or heels, bow undone), the Current/Elliot cut-out denim dress, below, these Frame belted jean shorts, this lace-trimmed Love Sam embroidered maxi, this gauze kaftan by Vix Paula Hermany, and this knitted metallic Missoni bikini.
standout staples
Tuesday, July 14
I'll take more of French designer Sophie Hubert's less-is-more aesthetic, please! They key to it all: simple yet sophisticated staples, like the slit skirt, above, and the pristine white denim shorts below (fresher than ubiquitous indigo). Also in her wear-and-repeat line-up: sleek strappy sandals, a timeless tank top, pleated cotton trousers, and a versatile sleeveless dress. Et voila!
