I'm feeling nostalgic for carefree mingling and meandering, triggered by these snapshots from one year ago, bopping around NYC, in the same Rebecca Taylor dress with my twin sis, above, and below, with my girl friends in Santa Ynez. At the very least, I can still wear these dresses (lace one below), both imbued with happy memories. I'd guess with about 99.9% certainty that my 11-year-old's summer day camp will be cancelled. Which means I'll be adding camp counselor to my to-do list. To execute my role successfully, I'll need some fun things recommended by my son: extra cool pool floats (this and this), giant bumper balls (I'm not going to lie: I am little scared to play this game with him!), and Spikeball. With all this, I should be a happy camper!

One day it may be cold. Another day it may be hot. That's the month of May--and it may be a good excuse to have a cute, throw-it-on cardigan at the ready for those up's and down's. Over the weekend, Mother Nature gave me one of the best Mother's Day presents: an opportunity to be outside with the kids, "dressed up" in all female designers: Coco Shop's (above) cotton print dress, AGL sandals and a palm-print maxi by Natalie Martin (below) along with a cute, customizable hat by Glampwear. My earrings are by Meredith Quill and shell necklace by Jenna Blake. Proud to know most of these creative women and mothers!

Post-quarantine, I will have friends subscribing to two style categories: sweats-for-life stalwarts and anti-athleisure activists. For me, there's a happy--and chic--in between, rooted in effortlessly cool blouses, relaxed jeans, pleated trousers, flowy dresses, and unfussy accessories. My simple summer staples will include these high-waist dart Mango jeans (above, and the white cropped pair in last pic), this blue poplin smock dress (similar to below), this Topshop embroidered shirt (a Zimmermann ringer at $67!), these Vince pleated trousers (on sale), this white ruffled Velvet blouse, this bell-sleeved Asos button-down, these Veronica Beard wear-with-everything sandals (on sale) and this Shein floral mini (also Zimmermann-ish).

I'm not planning on doing much for Mother's Day. With LA's lock-down still in effect, there's not much I can do and, truthfully, I'd rather not do much--at least in the cooking, cleaning, chore-delegating and problem-solving departments. We moms have been doing a lot lately--perhaps more than ever. The only thing I would really like to do, however, is celebrate my mother, who has not crossed the threshold of her front door nor has been hugged by me in two months(!); as well as my fellow moms, for rising up to the 24/7 challenges of home-schooling, home-stocking, home-sanitizing, and general homeostasis! Plus, on top of it all, bringing home the bacon!!
