The #amazonnightgown may be a viral hit, but I'm sold on its sidekick instead, the better quality (linen/cotton), tassel-trimmed dress (and tucked-in top)!

lip service
Friday, August 23
I rarely write about beauty products (as I am not much of an expert) but this do-it-all Kosasport lip gloss warrants the spotlight today. I am truly and completely obsessed with it. First of all, it's infused with amazingly moisturizing hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E, plus has the best (not-at-all-sticky) lightweight texture. Perhaps its greatest attribute, however, is its sheer, there-but-not-there berry tint. In my opinion: perfection. Again, I am not an expert and don't know if I'm supposed to dab it on my cheeks, but I do for a finishing rosy glow. And it's $18 bucks!
big top
Thursday, August 22
After a dry cleaner mix-up when I received a Theory shirt instead of my husband's beloved Prada button-down, only one person was happy: me! Because I got a crisp, perfectly oversized blouse that I can wear all the time. Its relaxed, borrowed/stolen-from-the-boys silhouette is right up this fall's alley. (For the record, I tried to return the shirt to the cleaners but they insisted it had no owner they were aware of--perhaps a sign I should switch to another service.) Thankfully, for the rest of you, mix-up free, there are loads of desirable options out there that will undoubtedly make you happy from Vince, James Perse, Golden Goose, H&M, and Queen & Belle.
golden girl

I've always gravitated toward discreet and dainty jewelry. Until a few months ago when I fell for a Jenna Blake chunky gold link necklace that's now chained to my neck. Turns out my timing could not have been better as it's currently de riguer to go BIG, pile on, as well as play with combinations of big and little. Take this Jennifer Zeuner choker, for example, teamed with this Lulu DK enamel pendant necklace. The effect: outfit-making magic! I also love these gold goods by Maison Mayle (see me wearing my lariat here), Brinker & Eliza, Maison Irem, Loren Stewart and Bauble Bar.
lay low
Tuesday, August 20
At least I don't have to put on high heels anytime soon. Fall fashion is calling for more low-profile sandals and flat loafers, and this has my feet jumping for (comfy) joy. (P.S. How cute is the Ivy & Oak floral dress, above?!) This far into summer, I pretty much have the sandal situation covered--though I do still covet these by Tibi, Jeffrey Campbell (so Miu Miu spirited!) and By Far (similar to above)--but I could so use a pair of go-with-everything, year-round loafers life these by Sam Edelman, Gucci, Everlane, Steve Madden, and Kanaas.
puff piece
Monday, August 19
A friend of mine only had a minute to change out of her beach attire to catch a bullet train back to the city yesterday. When she re-appeared, 59 seconds later, she was wearing the cutest Rebecca Taylor puff-sleeve blouse (one I happen to have and is now on sale!) with jeans and sneakers. She looked perfect--and ready to go. Her presto change-o had me thinking that the puff sleeve top (i.e., a new fall must-have) might just be the answer to our hurry-up-and-look-cute quandaries--particularly helpful/strategic during the painstaking back-to-work transition. Other excellent options come from Isabel Marant Etoile, Ulla Johnson, Frame, Veronica Beard, and H&M. But wait, how cute is this one-and-done Asos puff sleeve jumpsuit?
work like a charm
Friday, August 16
Among my new favorite NYC discoveries: Jennifer Creel's adorable and highly addictive candy-colored enamel pendants, above, every single thing at Maison Mayle (I spent hours trying on the entire stunning collection--you'll see much more of this beloved brand on Le Catch!), the random but incredibly stocked Dolce & Gabanna, Balenciaga, and Christian Dior sample sale pop-up on Broadway in Soho (next door to Zara), Il Buco Alimentari's crispy artichoke (crazy yum!), these Steve Madden snakeprint sandals (in green, trust me), this tiger-print And Other Stories fleece, and this Bauble Bar mini hoop earring set that looks Madison Avenue-decadent at a Canal Street price. Happy Friday!

leather love
Wednesday, August 14
Oy. I promised myself I wouldn't shop in New York. I even promised my sister. But once I landed downtown yesterday, I heard the siren call of Lower East Side/Noho shopping: hard-to-find labels, la ti da! Less expensive, oooh yeah! My go-to stores, clued in to fall's biggest trends, were chock full of leather, including the more budget-friendly, la-ti-da faux kind! And with images like these impressed in my mind, I could not resist buying this $119 balloon-sleeve blouse from Frankie Shop. Even my sister got sucked in with this pretty Rebecca Taylor bow-tie top. Also tempting (and not only LES-accessible!): this faux patent Ganni jacket, these Nanushka vegan leather pants, this Cedric Charlier midi dress, and this H&M button-down.
jumbo jean jackets
Tuesday, August 13
After a seven-year-old boy threw up (and up and up!) in the center aisle an hour into my LAX>JFK flight yesterday, I sought refuge where I could: underneath my oversize jean jacket! (I just had to block the whole scene out!) Today, it looks like my wardrobe workhorse will keep on giving, particularly during the warm-to-cold turbulence ahead. It will welcome with open arms my back-to-routine knits and jeans as well summer stragglers (skirts and dresses). I highly recommend these denim do's from Madewell, Re/Done, Levi's, or, if you like things with your name on it (me!), hit up Zara to get a personalized jean jacket.
