glow girl
Friday, May 10
Lucky me, I've just discovered not one but two new ways to get my glow on! The first came to me courtesy of a good friend/vacation mate in the Bahamas. She emerged from her bedroom early one morning in her workout gear, looking dewy and fresh, like she had just taken an energy-replenishing yoga class. Turns out it was really just Face Gym's multi-vitamin stick (complete with super hydrating Hyaluronic Acid) that did the trick! (Sweating activates the ingredients, so you get even more glowy.) Hell-o, I want to wake up (and go to the gym) looking that way! Then, when I returned home, I noticed that my twin sister was looking exceptionally/mysteriously radiant--odd since she's been spending most of her days lately inside unnaturally-lit photo studios. She credited RMS' Champagne Rose Luminizer, dabbed on her cheekbones and below her eyebrows. Magic, truly!
summer slippers
Thursday, May 9
The one pair of shoes (or two or three!) that will crisscross time zones with me this summer will seamlessly go with a caftan during the day to a dressy dress at night--with help from The Reformation's new shoe collection. Debuting today, Ref's sandals, espadrilles and flats are all super versatile, super sexy, and sustainably made, using materials like chrome-free leather and jute. Plus, they're affordable! I especially love the vintage-spirited thong-inspired kitten heels, above, the backless ballet slippers, and lace-ups, below. I've already put one pair to work yesterday on the Lower East Side. See here!
bahama mama
Wednesday, May 8
Mother's Day came early for me, with a celebratory Bahama mama getaway this past weekend. All eight of us, moms to 24 (!) children in total, sunned, swam, and slept to our hearts' content. It was heaven! Herewith, a few highlights and how I barely dressed my way through it all! The Rebecca Taylor dress, above (also here), was a sartorial hit with my friends. I love that you can wear it out to dinner or unbuttoned to the beach. More, below.
I'm not usually a multi-necklace person, but this combo of a delicate Anne Sisteron chain and my Jenna Blake charm necklace just works both on the beach and off! Meanwhile, my Lola Hat is not only cute, but cleverly folds up neatly in my suitcase!
This Rhode Resort dress also garnered a collective thumbs-up. Teamed with statement earrings and kitten heels, it can be pina colada, pronto! My cute Molly x RM personalized clutch, a gift each of us received from one thoughtful mom on the trip, became my day-to-night carryall.
My $50 shell-trimmed Zara suit!
Backing up my blouse with bikini philosophy, with Zimmermann and Rebecca Taylor over a grilled grouper lunch. My teeny earring is by Maria Tash.
The prettiest turquoise water screams for a pretty colorful suit. BTW: it's $13!
Blending in with the beautiful surroundings was a tough feat, but my Banjanan print ruffle dress got me semi-close!
raining champ
Tuesday, May 7
A stylish jacket that also functions as a shirt and a blazer--plus deftly navigates spring's mercurial weather--is way too good to pass up. Considering the seemingly endless rain in NYC's forecast, I could also use this Mango leopard-print bucket hat, these Chloe-esque Puma sneakers, this designed-for-layering Vince windbreaker or this cutely versatile Donni fleece (on sale!).
that's a wrap
Monday, May 6
Fact: this season's trendy high-waist bikini provides more coverage. Consequently, my theory is to wear this suit with less of a cover-up. (Evidently, others seem agree with me, above and below!) This new kind of summer staple reveals your suit but still conceals the whole schebang--and as an added bonus, can be worn off the beach too. I'm talking picture-perfect pieces like this Lisa Marie Fernandez wrap top, above (also cute with high waist white jeans, BTW), and the Sea print robe, below. Other amazing options include this Tiara Hawaii blouse, this Figue kimono, this H&M belted shirt, this Zara button-down, and this Skin cotton voile shirt.
la double goop
Friday, May 3
I always love wearing/touting my creative, talented friends, but I'm doubly thrilled about the launch of La Double J x Goop, both pals of mine who teamed up on a twice-as-chic capsule collection. The Visconti Dress, above, is equal parts JJ and GP: vibrant yet elegant! Check out and shop the other amazing (exclusive) styles here--before they sell out!
cool khakis
Thursday, May 2
I'm thinking it's about time I snap up this summer's requisite pant: the cool khaki! What makes them "new" now is their loose but feminine, flattering cut; wide, cropped leg; and relaxed yet crisp vibe. What's more is their work-to-weekend versatility. Might I also add: they're not white (boring!) jeans. I'm eyeing these guys by Everlane, Dickies, Prada, Monse, Phillip Lim and J.Crew (on sale).

french flips
Monday, April 29
Havianas has improved on the basic rubber flip flop (read: summer staple) with a freshly chic striped grosgrain ribbon and slide-like silhouette. They're aptly called the Saint Tropez flip flop (but at a very un-South-of-France $40). Mais oui!
