left behind

It’s been tricky keeping track of everything I own during these last few months—post-fire, riding out temporary living, then moving into a new rental, while, at the same time, trying not to dwell on all that was lost. Among the things that made it through is a beloved Left On Friday bikini top, above, that's equal parts Eres-sexy and surf-proof, with the bonus of doubling as a sports bra. It’s insanely comfortable, a small but meaningful comfort amidst the turbulence. My sister recently had the chance to capture it in action in Hawaii, along with shooting other new Left On Friday spring/summer swimsuits, and seeing her work featured here makes me want to (A) run away to Waikiki, (B) get in better shape, and (C) buy the bikini top in all new colors! (P.S. I've said it here multiple times before that I also swear by Left on Friday leggings--and wear nothing but them for exercise. Best fit, most flattering.) Run away with me?

french jeans
Tuesday, March 11
Jeans just look better on the streets of Paris. It’s not fair, really. The same pair that feels effortlessly cool at home can suddenly seem hopelessly out of place once you’re surrounded by Parisians with their uncanny gift for making denim look like high fashion. It’s not just about fit—it’s about that elusive French je ne sais quoi, the ability to wear jeans like they were made specifically for sauntering down the Rue Saint-Honoré, not for running errands at Target. Of course, it's not just the jeans. Top them with a stylish turban, above, and suddenly you're next level. Same with patent leather Chanels or a perfectly beat-up Hermes Kelly bag, both below. The real magic, though, lies in the cut. A flattering high waist, a crisp, non-stretch denim, a wash that says “vintage” without trying too hard. The right pair whispers chic nonchalance--and fortunately for us, they're closer than you think. Many of them can be found right here at home in America on sale, no less at Shopbop. Use the code SELECT20 to save 20% off on these Paris-ready pairs from Slvrlake (immediately below), Citizens of Humanity, Still Here, Levi's, Anine Bing and Damson Madder. P.S. Everything new and fresh you want to wear this spring is also 20% off here. Get on it!

for the win
Monday, March 10
I spent Saturday in Venice at my sons' high school volleyball tournament--sustained by almond butter-filled pretzels and enveloped in a chaotic symphony of whistle blows, relentless ball bounces, and the occasional near-decapitation from a rogue spike. Between matches, I honed my reflexes dodging volleyballs while adding to cart: the fringed Mango, above, and beaded bag, below. I also came across the under-$100 Bottega Veneta dupe from Anthropologie, and the lace-up K. Jacques x Ciao Lucia sandals, below. I stayed thoroughly comfortable throughout the day in pull-on drawstring Theory pants (a new wardrobe winner!) and Tuckernuck U-neck sweater, below. But the real win? My boys took home the championship! So in the end, we all scored.

slip up
Friday, March 7
Get ready to bust out the lingerie. Or at the very least: the lace. At Paris' Fashion Week, Chloe's Fall 2025 show prominently featured intimate-inspired designs, sheer fabrics, seductive ruffles and slip-like Victorian-spirited nightgowns. Off the runway, attendees embraced the lingerie-as-outerwear trend, below, incorporating delicate fabrics and lingerie-inspired pieces into their ensembles. However, pulling off this trend requires grounding pieces: structured elements like tailored jackets, sharp trousers, and classic accessories that balance the softness of sheer fabrics and lace. These additions create contrast, ensuring the look remains polished and wearable beyond the runway. I love how Doen, second to last pic, combines a classic barn jacket with buttery silk satin shorts and masculine Proenza Schouler loafers and studded Khaite bag. Perfect styling! An impeccable (and well-priced) stand-in for all the lace Chloe right now: the about-to-sell-out And Other Stories maxi dress, below, this Jacques Wei lace-paneled top, this Journelle camisole (great under a blazer) and this 3.1 Phillip Lim lace skirt and t-shirt set (genius built-in styling).

closet case
Wednesday, March 5
Moving into a new closet isn't just about organizing clothes and accessories—it’s a chance to take stock of what I really love to wear. Yesterday, as I arranged shoes and hung up my clothes, I noticed a pattern: My go-to Jamie Haller loafers sit next to my sleek Prada slingbacks, revealing a mix of classic shapes with modern sensibility. My focus now is on building a wardrobe that's both functional and true to where I am now. This spring, I’m leaning into mules. Miu Miu’s Logo Slippers, above, strikes the balance between home-sweet-home comfort and Fashion Week-stylish. Right next to them: Khaite’s Mia T-strap, below, a pump that somehow makes polished but low effort look easy (more sizes here!).
