flat out good
Monday, July 13
A week-long photo shoot in London had my sister working alongside the city's most in-demand stylists, all of them, she says, wearing lace-up flats. She returned home to the States yesterday with this cool pair.

Whenever I see Russian editor and street style star Miroslava Duma, I always say to myself, "I'll take what she's wearing." Her head-turning outfits are consistently composed of the latest Celine, the blockbuster Fendi, the incredibly intricate Valentino, the edgiest Acne Studios. Turns out her rarely-seen off-duty look, above, is equally compelling--and surprisingly toned down. What I love most: no jeans in sight! Inspired, I'd like to give my go-to denim a little holiday and sub in a comfy, travel-ready, fresh-looking pair of cargo pants, such as these by Current/Elliot, J.Crew, and Veronica Beard.
shoulder to shoulder
Friday, July 10
Looks like shoulder-baring tops and dresses are having their day in the European sun, from Paris to Tuscany (last pic below). Lauren Santo Domingo's blouse, above, is by Johanna Ortiz. Clearly, this means we need a few of our own in which to frolick! So, I turned up these lovelies by Nicholas, KUT, Tibi, The Reformation (or this one, which I have!), Caroline Costas, Topshop, H&M, and Diane Von Furstenberg.

everyday earrings
Wednesday, July 8
At Nobu in Malibu the other night with several girl friends, the table discussion ranged from the crisis in Greece to the presidential primary races. Eventually though things got serious when the conversation moved on to earrings, specifically, our most favorite go-to's. I'm talking about the ones you never need/don't want to take off, because they go with just about everything in your closet. They're perfectly subtle but not in the least bit boring. The other night I happened to be wearing my new favorite pair by Adina Reyter, which garnered table-wide approval. A friend sitting next to me, who has multiple ear piercings, swore by Lena Wald's micro diamonds. Other honorable mentions: these by Ileana Makri, Rue Gembon, Vita Fede, Dana Rebecca, Wendy Nichol, Jacquie Aiche, Sydney Evan and Irene Neuwirth.

popping up in paris
Tuesday, July 7
While the couture catwalks are currently the draw in Paris, the city's sidewalks are also putting on a pretty compelling show, replete with prints, prints and more prints. Runway watchers are taking to the streets in bold, bright patterns--polka dots, stripes, animal, florals!--sometimes all mixed together, and the overall effect is tres chic! Pulling off this look here can be made easy with these fantastic printed pieces by 3.1 Phillip Lim, Diane Von Furstenberg (40% off), Rebecca Minkoff, Thakoon Addition, Veronica Beard (which I have and love, and it's now 60% off!), See by Chloe, Joe Fresh, House of Holland, Topshop, Draper James, and Asos.

summer chic
Monday, July 6
Take one, or better yet, several looks at stylist Natasha Goldenberg's instagram account (@ngoldenberg) and you too will become convinced that she's got summer style nailed. Her effortlessly chic, everyday-ready and motherhood-friendly look is nailed in a mix of breezy, calf-length dresses, like this Madewell, this Line & Dot, this Alice & Olivia and this Sportmax (as well as this Proenza Schouler, below, and this Valentino, featured in the second snap down) along with standout flat sandals such as these, these and these (similar to the pic below, or in metallic gold here). She finishes things off with accessories that are unrepentantly bold and edgy: her signature sunglasses are round, oversized and retro-spirited like these, while her bag is statement-y yet big and practical enough to tote a package of hand wipes or two. I'll take it all, please!
