printed playsuits
Monday, May 18
If I had to single out a favorite summer trend, I'd go with the printed romper. The reason: it's easy, one-step, heat wave-ready, stand-out-from-the crowd dressing. And there are so many options to choose from right now. Among the best are these from Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenburg, Madewell, Asos, Faithfull, Thakoon Addition, Basta Surf and Joie. The one pictured, above, is by Stone Cold Fox. This one is similar.

striped straw
Friday, May 15
This must just qualify as the be-all, end-all beach bag for me, due to its peppy stripes, throw-it-around raffia durability and towel, book and more-accommodating roominess. Oh, and its under-$100 price tag!

summer blacks
Thursday, May 14
I'll admit: it seems counter-intuitive to wear head-to-toe black right now... but it's all I want to do! Maybe it's because everyone else is busting out their whites and florals? Or perhaps it's just because I've come across all these good pics that I am inclined to follow suit. I'd like to start off with the Tibi top, above, then slip into any of these slinky inky dresses by Heidi Merrick (I also love this one), DKNY, Topshop, Issa, Carven, Asos and Chalayan (pictured in second image, below).

big baubles
Wednesday, May 13
I'm totally inspired by One King's Lane current feature on statement jewelry, particularly the kind brandishing big honking colorful stones. These cuffs and rings come off as more earthy-chic rather than garish and overdone, and they perfectly suit this season's bohemian mood. Plus, I love how they can spice up pretty much any outfit. I'm especially smitten with these pieces (and their reasonable prices!) by Janna Conner (or this one), Tildon, Isabel Marant (on sale!), Etro, Kenneth Jay Lane, Pablo, Chloe (pricier but so pretty!), Jules Smith, Sole Society and Marni.

going gingham
Tuesday, May 12
Christian Dior's Resort 2016 collection, showcased yesterday in Cannes, France, indicates that gingham--one of this season's trendiest prints--is here to stay. At least for awhile! The checkered print was rendered in every silhouette from peplum tops to shorts to dresses, and sometimes all layered together, which looked especially fresh (above). My current favorite ways to work this perennial print come from 1 State, Tanya Taylor, Draper James, Diane Von Furstenberg and Madewell.
