Lace is one of those perennial trends--which is why I always buy in--but this spring it's a little less frothy/precious and a lot more casual and cool, and the way to wear it is in the form of a daytime-ready dress. Think short and snappy lace minis and long, sandal-friendly maxis. Topping my most wanted list are gorgeous, ready-to-go frocks by Isabel Marant, Topshop, Chloe, BB Dakota (similar to the Valentino, above), Free People, Felicity & Coco, and Lover.

$395, tibi

At a festive soiree last Friday night several of my friends turned up in elegant cropped tops that showed just the tiniest sliver of skin. I'd like to follow suit with this version that features a cool kimono-style tie in the back. (P.S. High-waist pants or skirts are key to pulling off a crop top stylishly.)

It's been decided: wide-leg pants will be my staple this spring. They will be slightly slouchy, not sloppy. They will take me from work meetings to drinks with friends. They will go with everything from easy, casual t-shirts and light knits (love the sleek monotone look, above) to fancy, formal tops. And they will be gloriously comfortable. Since this 70s-spirited wide-leg silhouette is a big spring trend, there are a bazillion options to choose from. I narrowed it down to these by DKNY, Vince, Milly, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Asos. The pants, pictured above, are by Ryu Ryu.

Rarely will you see me wearing fingernail polish, but a photo shoot earlier this month (details to come!) called for a statement manicure, featuring a striking scarlet shade. Post-shoot, I could not stop staring at my fancy red fingers, which, frankly, did not feel like my own. Even my friends commented/noticed! All of this prompted me to seek out the chicest, most dramatic reds, and I came up with a few: Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish (pictured above), or this one, this Carnel Red by Tom Ford, this Scarlet by RGB and this Rouge Pop Art by Yves Saint Laurent.

There's a lot to love about this cross-body bag: its compact (iPhone 6-friendly) size, spot-on tassel details, and night-out worthiness. Plus, it's reversible, with a graphic black and white print on the other side.
