As prim and proper as London may seem, a wild print never looks out of place. That's certainly proving to be the case this week on the city's runways (Erdem, Peter Pilotto, Burberry, etc)--and on the streets, where the local and international rainbow warriors are maxing out on layers (and layers) of mixed patterns, colorful capes, chunky knits, vibrant lace and eccentric fur. Here are some of my favorite looks, along with some ways to execute this punchy style.

The floral lace hem on this Topshop skirt, above, is both edgy and feminine--just the way I like it.

Moda Operandi founder Lauren Santo Domingo opts for a languid lace skirt in the prettiest pale pink shade, tempering its frothiness with a Carven chunky patchwork knit sweater.

I'd love to carry around a plush faux fur bag like this--kind of like a pet, but it doesn't bark, and you don't have to feed it!

It looks like a new pair of sunnies are in order, and the rounder and more retro-ish, the better. Proof: these sightings of New York and London Fashion week goers, all sporting circular sunglasses. I love how they appear both vintage and modern--and playfully cool. I'm eyeing these glasses from Acne Studios (pictured above, left), Rag & Bone, Whistles (below), J.Crew, and Sunday Somewhere.

Stripes! Gingham! Cut-outs! Crops tops and off-the-shoulder-blouses! These were the headlining Spring 2015 trends on the New York runways. Meanwhile, off the catwalk, wardrobe basics grabbed the spotlight. I'm talking good old jeans, crisp button-down shirts, denim blouses, classic pointy-toe slingback pumps, and go-with-everything black bags. The look is all-American, elegantly understated and forever stylish. While I already possess many of these closet staples, I'm inspired to seek out a few updates that will endure for seasons to come, such as these black slingbacks by Jimmy Choo, Paul Andrew and Nine West. (As far as classic black pumps go, I still swear by my Louboutins, but covet these sexy shoes from Gianvito Rossi.) Denim-wise, I'd love to stockpile these cropped dark wash Rag & Bone jeans, these vintage-looking relaxed-fitting Citizens of Humanity, this Madewell denim shirt and this button-down blouse!

With all the stripes coming down the Spring 2015 runways, Topshop was smart to re-issue this previously sold-out dress (see last image below) this time in black and white. P.S. It's the contrasting seams and rounded hem that make this dress super flattering and chic.

You can always bet on a new "it" bag emerging from fashion week, and this year it's Mark Cross' Grace leather shoulder box bag, which has a structured, briefcase-like shape along with an elegant ladylike vibe. (Interesting trivia: this bag's design was inspired by luggage used in Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 film Rear Window.) These boxy bags are showing up in a myriad of colors like this and this and not leaving the sides of fashion bellwethers, such as model Alexa Chung, below, who chose tried-and-true black leather, and Vogue editor Kelly Connor (last pic.) Of course, like most "it" bags, this one comes with a hefty price tag, but I dug up some inspired options from Kate Spade, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Asos.
