Another day, another year. 2014, here we come! Customarily, on New Year's Eve, I always try to watch the sunset and say aloud the one thing what I want for the new year. (P.S. The small figures in the picture above are my husband and his friend paddle boarding into the California sunset a few days ago!) It's my version of making New Year's resolutions. These "vows" consistently include eating better, getting more sleep, drinking more water, doing my best, etc. This year, those same vows apply, along with.

If there's ever a night to show some leg, it's tonight. Happy New Year! But these women, pictured here, prove that any old day warrants a sexy slit skirt. Sales mania continues. My twin sister's white tweed Isabel Marant coat, above, is among the many covetables marked down by a whopping 60% at Barneys. (I'll have you know that when she tried it on at the store in New York, she unwittingly prompted two other women to buy one for themselves!) Also up for grabs: my new favorite Fendi studded heels in beige suede; this gorgeous, can't-wait-for-spring-to-wear-it Stella McCartney dress, and this head-turning O'2nd fur trimmed coat. Speaking of sales, shoes and spring, Nordstrom has a robust assortment of next season-ready shoes at ridiculously good prices. I'm talking this chic pair of $24 gold-accented leopard print sandals, these statement-y open-toe Prada heels that are similar to the ones pictured, above, at 55% off (I also found the exact same shoe in brown on sale at Bergdorf Goodman), and these amazing versatile Charles David t-strap sandals for $113. Meanwhile, Shopbop's post-Christmas sale features everything I could possibly want to wear now from this super cute Lovers + Friends color-blocked coat (30% off) to these knee-high House of Harlow boots (30% off) to this cubicle-to-cocktails Club Monaco top. We've all seen a million variations of the beloved white fisherman sweater. But French chicster Lou Doillon shows us the coolness of the iconic knit in refreshingly different red.
