totally good
Monday, September 23
It's rare to find a bag that's as roomy, errand-proof, iPad-accommodating, and perhaps most importantly (for me) Lego project-friendly as it is fantastically chic. And how about those red zippers?!

flash forward
Friday, September 20
My kids insisted we take out and put up the Halloween decorations this week. Which means the holiday hoopla is soon to come! This is the type of skirt that will see me through all the egg nog and gingerbread houses--in flashy, fun, piece-of-cake style.

the t-strap
Thursday, September 19
Just in case you have not yet met, allow me to introduce you to Spring 2014's "it" shoe: the t-strap heel. Burberry's needle-heeled, wide-strap version, rendered in eye-popping hues like coral (above) and neon green, will likely be the season's most coveted. Stylist Giovanna Battaglia, below, who has a knack for pioneering trends, wore t-straps straight through New York Fashion Week and Taylor Tomasi Hill followed suit with her Alaia's in London. Since the Burberry's will not be available for months, I've been poking around for some options that are wear-this-very-minute fabulous. So far I've discovered these lovelies from Fendi (seriously drooling over these!), Dolce & Gabbana, Topshop, and Steve Madden. Let me know if you turn up any good ones.

sweater weather
Wednesday, September 18
While fall hasn't quite descended upon Los Angeles (it's a very summery 81 degrees today!), sweater weather has stormed into London. There, fashion show-goers are sporting cozy knits that are not only chill-proof but paparazzi-pleasing. They're striped, fluffy (like the white Fendi angora below), graphic, bold, kitschy, and everything in between. J.Crew has a bevy of statement makers, many of which came online today and are 25% off, including this indigo color-blocked cashmere crewneck and this yummy shearling cardigan. I'm also digging this striped one from Sophie Hulme, this fluffy black and white Dorothy Perkins (a good take on the mohair Saint Laurent), this camo Phillip Lim, and this MSGM camel/blue goodness.

doing the polka
Tuesday, September 17
About a month ago I did a light cleaning out of my closet, pulling out clothes I haven't worn in months, including a years-old but perfectly-cut polka dot blouse. I debated for a moment whether to keep it as polka dots have a tendency to go in and out and in again--and ultimately decided to dump it in the give-away pile. Oops. Looks like polka dots are back, both big and small, on the Spring 2014 runways (hello, Burberry Prorsum!) and off. Olivia Palermo hit the spot with her Tibi button down during New York Fashion Week while Taylor Tomasi Hill doubled up on dots the other day in London. I've found some potential replacements in these tops from Marc by Marc Jacobs, J.Crew, and Chloe, and some more polka dot goodness in this Loft pencil skirt.

classic cables
Monday, September 16
These snaps from New York Fashion Week are rekindling my passion for the classic cable knit sweater. I have a few (one in cream, another in camel) stashed in my closet and once the temperature drops, I'll be busting them both out. I think they look modern and fresh teamed with something feminine, like a flouncy skirt--but also great with a pair of jeans. I dug up a few fantastic options including a straight-up cotton Mango, a deliciously tricked-out Phillip Lim, a cozy turtleneck 525 America, a knitted angora Topshop, and a perfectly oversize Ami Dans La Rue.
