cozy jumper

I bought this knubby woven tunic for $79(!) at Zara last Tuesday and have worn it almost every day since. It's super cozy, thoroughly Chanel-spirited, and endlessly versatile. I brought it in my carry-on to New York last week, wore it to the office, where it got rave reviews. Even when I was walking around in Soho, people stopped me to ask where I bought it. Zara, baby.

color fest

I am totally inspired by this vivid outfit from Madewell. I love the bright on bright jewel tones and how the camel coat neutralizes (i.e., reigns in) the crazy combo. The animal print boots I'd skip. A black stiletto or even a black ballet flat would be more up my alley. Speaking of Madewell, my sister and I were photographed for its winter catalog, due out any day now. We wore amazingly luscious knits: Coco in a long fitted gray sweater dress, reminiscent of the Benetton styles back in the mid-80s, and I sported a comfy, slightly oversized waffle knit jumper. As soon as the catalog's out, I will post the pics.

crazy good clutches

Last week I went to the Designers and Agents show in LA, a bi-annual trade show where designers exhibit and sell their upcoming collections, and I came across a booth stocked with the most drool-worthy, distinctly chic clutches by Brazil-based label Serpui Marie. There were sleek zig zig mother of pearl minaudieres, ombre silk clutches and eye-popping neon snakeskin styles. They were all insane: delicate, refined and elegant yet decidedly modern and super wearable. I asked the sales rep if I could make a personal order. She said I'd need to order 10, as the designer only sells to the trade (i.e. retailers). I asked for a line sheet, took some pics, and promptly emailed friends to see if they wanted to order one as well. One hour later I had 23 orders--a testament to the bags' insaneness. I am telling you: you must get your hands on one of these puppies when they ship to stores in February. They retail between $150-$500. The bags I bought (a white snakeskin minaudiere and a mother of pearl one) will be sold at Kitson. Be on the lookout!
