Fall is calling for mod (mini) dresses, and they're exactly what I want to wear right now, while the weather is still warm. They're also fun, flirty and throw-on-and-go easy. Come wintertime, these little frocks will look cute with opaque tights. (Miroslava Duma, above, is wearing a past season lace lovely by Marni. You can find its brethren here.) Inspired by the Fall 2014 offerings from primo designers like Saint Laurent, Alexander Wang, and Miu Miu, I'd go for a dress with a graphic print like this McQ Alexander McQueen, or standout embellishment such as this Alice by Temperly, and/or a sleek and simple Asos. I also adore these lovelies from Little White Lies, Alice + Olivia, and Christopher Kane.

Evidently, I'm in denial that summer's just about over, as I snapped up this darling embroidered throw-it-over-a-wet-swimsuit dress. But I am also thinking it will work like magic on warm winter getaways (that I am already plotting!)--and for many summers to come. Happy long weekend!

I've never been the type to wear sweatpants out in public (except to the gym), but the cool jogger-inspired pants that are everywhere right now have me re-thinking this. More convincing evidence: the above picture perfectly demonstrates how joggers are a legit everyday-chic alternative to jeans. Plus, they could even work into night, paired with ankle boots or high heel sandals. I could see myself running around in these joggers by Splendid, J.Crew (in charcoal), Stella McCartney, Mother of Pearl, and Gap.

These Madewell flats are pointy-toe, jeans-to-skirt perfection and walk-everywhere convenience, to boot. And may I add: it's all about the pointy-toe flat this fall. (Thank goodness!) Among my favorite trends for fall are wide-leg pants, which, of course, give the illusion of a taller, slimmer figure. I'd like that, of course, and I'd go for it with a new pair of boot-cut jeans--a back-in-fashion fall style that looks compellingly fresh again. Thanks to Shopbop's sale, which just started today, there are loads of jeans to choose from, including these by J.Brand (similar to above), Paige and Citizens of Humanity, plus other excellent finds that tap into the biggest trends of the season. Here's an outfit that nails end-of-summer style, as it blends a bit of beachy ease (lace-up sandals and pajama top) with citified edge (asymmetrical skirt).
